01Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage do a similar job: they let a site remember something on your device. This page covers all three.
This site has no advertising cookies and doesn’t follow you around other websites. It keeps only a few small items, and none of them holds your name or email address.
02What we store
Here is everything the site can store in a visitor’s browser.
| Name | What it does | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
miras-lang | What it doesRemembers whether you chose English or Arabic. | TypeLocal storage | How longUntil you clear it |
miras.consent | What it doesRemembers your answer when the site asks about analytics, so it doesn’t ask again. | TypeLocal storage | How longUntil you clear it |
miras.touch | What it doesNotes how you arrived: the site that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, and the page you landed on. If the site sends your brief to us directly, rather than opening your email app, this goes with it so we know how you found us. | TypeSession storage | How longUntil you close the tab |
_ga _ga_* | What it doesGoogle Analytics, only if we switch it on and you say yes. Tells one visitor from another so visits can be counted. | TypeAnalytics cookie | How longUp to 2 years |
03Analytics
Analytics are off unless we switch them on, and even then they run only if you say yes when the site asks. Depending on the service we use:
- Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with
_ga. They last up to 2 years. - Plausible and Umami don’t use cookies. They count visits without identifying you.
If you say no, none of them load, and the site works exactly the same.
04Items set when our team edits the site
When the MIRAS team edits the site, a few items are kept in that team member’s own browser. They hold the team’s drafts and settings, any images they upload, and the test briefs and visits made while checking the site: miras.admin and other items whose names start with miras.admin., miras.cms.draft, miras.events, miras.leads.inbox and the miras-admin database. They are set only in a browser the team has used to edit the site, and they stay in that browser. Visitors’ browsers never get them.
05Google Fonts
Our typefaces load from Google Fonts. When a page opens, your browser fetches them from Google’s servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), which receive your IP address, as with any web request. Google Fonts doesn’t set cookies. Google explains how it handles this data in its privacy policy.
06Changing your choice
To see the analytics question again, or to reset your language, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. It’s usually under Privacy or Site settings.
You can also block cookies and site storage altogether. The site still works; it just won’t remember your language or your answer.
07Changes to this policy
If we change what the site stores, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
